Academics

The Department of Computer Science at Wayne State University offers undergraduate programs that teach the fundamental skills needed to secure your first position, along with the foundational knowledge to adapt to ever-changing technologies for a lifelong career in computing. This culminates in our senior capstone course, where groups of undergraduate students work with industry partners to design and implement solutions to real-world problems. Through our AGRADE program, students can use credits from their B.S. program to earn a graduate degree in less than two years.

At the graduate level, students build their theoretical background via core courses of algorithms and automata, and broaden their perspectives in courses from a variety of computer science disciplines.

In addition to its conventional programs, the Department of Computer Science also plays a critical role in delivering the college's M.S. in robotics, M.S. in artificial intelligence, and M.S. in data science and business analytics programs.
